Artist profile:
I believe an artisans’ quilt evokes a feeling, memory or nostalgia that connects to others in a personal manner.
My first memory of sewing is sitting on my grandmother’s lap at her treadle machine. That memory and feeling, sparked a life long joy of sewing.
Over the years my interests evolved from making clothes, to home décor then into the creative process of quilting. Creating memory quilts and using upcycled fabrics and textiles, acknowledges the need to contribute to the sustainability challenge of the textile industry.
